Role Summary
The Geophysicist will be responsible for marine geophysical data acquisition, processing, interpretation, and reporting, supporting NMDC’s dredging, reclamation, and civil marine projects. The role requires the ability to independently execute survey interpretations and provide accurate, objective deliverables in line with project and QHSE requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct marine geophysics data acquisition, processing, and interpretation
Perform and manage all types of marine geophysical surveys
Independently execute survey data interpretation
Interpret geophysical survey logs and prepare accurate technical reports for the Survey Manager
Support calibration, installation, and troubleshooting of geophysical and survey equipment in coordination with survey technicians
Ensure compliance with QA, QHSE, and HSE policies and procedures
Respond to QHSE reports and implement corrective actions as advised by the Project Surveyor
Liaise with laboratories for sample collection, testing, and survey deliverables
Align survey activities with NMDC business priorities while meeting client and project requirements
Required Qualifications & Skills
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics or an equivalent professional qualification
Technical Skills
Advanced working knowledge of:
PDS2000
CODA Seismic
DELPH Seismic
AutoCAD
Terramodel
Survey software packages
Microsoft Excel (including formulas)
Strong data analysis, reporting, and presentation skills
Industry Experience
Experience in civil marine projects, dredging, or reclamation works is highly preferred
Practical offshore or nearshore marine survey experience is a strong advantage
