🧭 About the Role – Geomodeller (Reservoir Geologist)
Leap29 is seeking an experienced reservoir modeler to prepare, update, and deliver static geocellular models that will directly support reservoir simulation, field development planning, and production forecasting.
The role requires a strong and broad background across exploration and development geoscience, with expert-level skills in reservoir modelling and cross-disciplinary collaboration.
🔑 Key Responsibilities
As a Geomodeller, your responsibilities will include:
Planning and building detailed, geologically rigorous geocellular models in a timely manner
Integrating geological, petrophysical, seismic, and borehole data into static models
Using appropriate geological analogues to supplement subsurface understanding
Iterating geocellular models with multidisciplinary teams to ensure accuracy and alignment
Delivering final static models to reservoir engineers and supporting simulation workflows
Providing field development guidance, including future well placement and workover strategies
Performing uncertainty analysis through multiple model scenarios for volumetrics and development planning
🌍 Additional Contributions
Beyond core modelling responsibilities, the role also involves:
Mentoring and supporting less experienced geoscientists
Providing hands-on support to other reservoir modelling activities
Preparing and delivering technical reports and professional presentations
Engaging with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams
Managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting technical and schedule expectations
🎓 Qualifications & Experience Required
To be considered for this senior role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
B.Sc. in Geology (M.Sc. or PhD strongly preferred)
15+ years of industry experience building static geocellular models
Strong, hands-on proficiency in Petrel software
Proven experience with conventional clastic reservoirs
Experience with unconventional fractured reservoirs
Ability to import, manipulate, and interpret geological, seismic, and borehole datasets
Solid experience in seismic interpretation and time-depth conversion for model construction
Supervisory or leadership experience is an advantage
Willingness and ability to travel internationally
Strong communication, reporting, and stakeholder engagement skills
Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently or within teams
