🏗️ Position Overview: Senior Geologist
The Senior Geologist will play a pivotal role in leading exploration and resource development programs across Saudi Arabia. The position involves managing geological teams, interpreting complex datasets, and delivering high-quality technical outputs to support exploration success and mine development.
This is a senior-level role requiring both hands-on technical skills and strategic leadership.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Geologist, your core responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing geological exploration programs including:
Geological mapping
Surface and subsurface sampling
Drilling supervision and logging
Interpreting geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to identify and prioritize mineral targets
Developing and updating:
Geological models
Resource estimates
Technical and regulatory reports
Ensuring compliance with international reporting standards such as JORC, NI 43-101, or equivalent
Supervising, mentoring, and developing junior geologists and field technicians
Coordinating with:
Drilling contractors
Analytical laboratories
External consultants
Supporting mine planning and feasibility studies alongside mining and engineering teams
Ensuring all field activities comply with:
HSE policies
Saudi regulations
Company standards
Preparing technical presentations and reports for senior management and stakeholders
Liaising with government entities and supporting permitting and regulatory submissions
🎓 Required Qualifications & Experience
To be considered for this role, candidates should meet the following criteria:
Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Earth Sciences (Master’s degree preferred)
8–12 years of professional experience in mineral exploration and/or mining operations
Strong experience with metallic minerals, such as:
Gold
Copper
Zinc
Phosphate
Base metals
Proven experience working in arid or desert environments (highly desirable)
Solid understanding of:
Resource estimation
QA/QC procedures
Geological modeling
Hands-on experience with industry-standard software such as:
Leapfrog
Surpac
Datamine
Prior experience working in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is a strong advantage
