🎯 Job Purpose

The role focuses on providing high-level geological expertise to support Ma’aden’s Exploration and Resource Development operations. You will play a key role in:

  • Supervising field-based exploration and drilling programs

  • Ensuring operational excellence, safety, and data quality

  • Training and mentoring geoscientists and field teams

  • Supporting Ma’aden’s long-term mineral discovery strategy under Strategy 2040

This is a hands-on leadership role, combining technical depth with field supervision and continuous improvement.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities

🦺 Safety & Sustainability

  • Promote a “Safety First” culture across all exploration activities

  • Implement and monitor EHSS (Environment, Health, Safety & Security) systems

  • Act as a safety advocate at all times

🪨 Geological & Exploration Excellence

  • Conduct advanced geological assessments and surveys

  • Define and prioritize high-potential exploration targets

  • Interpret drill core, chips, geophysical, geochemical, and remote sensing data

  • Identify mineralization patterns, structural controls, and deposit extensions

🤝 Collaboration & Leadership

  • Work closely with geophysicists, geochemists, engineers, and execution teams

  • Supervise drilling programs and field crews

  • Train teams in geological & geotechnical logging, drill management, and QA/QC

  • Share and promote best practices across Ma’aden’s Geoscience community

📊 Data, Reporting & Improvement

  • Ensure high standards of data management and quality control

  • Compile and report drill program metrics and results

  • Prepare technical reports, interpretations, and annual summaries

  • Drive workflow improvements to enhance productivity, safety, and efficiency

  • Update and develop procedural documentation

🎓 Qualifications & Experience

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geoscience (Geology or related discipline)

  • Strong understanding of the mineral discovery process

  • Demonstrated experience in target generation, grassroots exploration, and project execution

Technical Expertise Required

  • Experience with Cu, Ni, Zn, Li, Ag, Au, and REE systems

  • Hands-on exposure to:

    • Porphyry Cu-Au

    • VHMS

    • Magmatic Ni-Cu systems

  • Proven capability in drill program execution and supervision

  • Strong QA/QC and data management background

  • Knowledge of JORC and NI 43-101 reporting standards

Experience Level

  • 7+ years in the mining & minerals industry (preferably exploration)

  • Familiarity with the Saudi Arabian mining sector is an advantage

💻 Technical Skills

  • Advanced geological interpretation and risk evaluation

  • Strong experience with GIS (ArcGIS Pro preferred)

  • Extensive 3D geological modeling (Leapfrog preferred)

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills in English

  • Ability to communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
